My Christmas Tree!

This year, since I'm single, I've decided to put up a Christmas tree in my living room... and it's pink....pink... pinkalicious!

I found the ornaments during my last trip in North Conway/Portland/Freeport last October.

I didn't feel that baby Jesus, Mary and Joseph would fit under the tree, so I got the idea to decorate it with New York City.  I also decorated the ramp of the staircase.

See it for yourself on the pictures below:

What's Up with the Squinting?

Patrick Warburton is his name. You might know him from some sitcoms.  He was David Puddy in Seinfeld and is Jeff in Rules of Engagement.  Of course he did other shows and movies, but I remember him mostly from these sitcoms.

I'm just wondering why this man squints so much!  When he was Elaine's boyfriend in Seinfeld, he kept squinting at her and her friends.  I thought it was part of his role.  But I've just started watching Rules of Engagement and I noticed that he's still squinting.  I really like the guy, I mean, I think he's cute... but the squinting totally gets on my nerves!

I just googled his name and found many pictures of him squinting!!!

Ok now... that's enough! I think you get the point! hahaha

The Hunger Games

MAY THE ODDS
BE EVER IN YOUR FAVOR

I just finished reading the first book of The Hunger Games trilogy. I just couldn't put it down.  I had to because my job needed all my attention (marking papers, correction of exams, class preparation...),  but as soon as I had free time, I'd read a chapter.  For those who have no idea what The Hunger Games are, here's a synopsis of the book:

The Hunger Games trilogy takes place in an unidentified future time period after the destruction of the current nations of North America, in a nation known as "Panem." Panem used to consist of a rich Capitol, located somewhere in the Rocky Mountains, and twelve (formerly thirteen until one is destroyed) surrounding, poorer districts which cater to the Capitol's needs. As punishment for a previous rebellion against the Capitol wherein the thirteenth district was supposedly destroyed, every year one boy and one girl from each of the remaining twelve districts, between the ages of twelve and eighteen, are selected by lottery and forced to participate in the "Hunger Games." The Games are a televised event where the participants, called "tributes," must fight to the death in a dangerous outdoor arena until only one remains. The winning tribute and his/her corresponding district is then rewarded handsomely. It is required viewing for everyone in the districts.

You might think this story is twisted. I agree with you.  I'm used to readingchick lit, so imagine me reading this sci-fi-adventurous story! It was a good change and I'm really glad my colleague Mark told us about it.  I just can't wait to start the second book - Catching Fire.  It's waiting for me, on the night table by the bed with the bookmark already inside!  It'll have to wait until the  report cards are done with all the results and comments . So, I'll come back and write my second review very soon.
.
By the way, there's a movie coming up on March 23!!!  Check this out:
